Release Your Grip From Manny's Jock! This postseason, like any has had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I have laughed my ass off watching the bullpen perform their very own version of "Street Jam" using empty water bottles and various items in an attempt to spark a rally. Remember, "One man's junk is another man's drum." I have screamed my lungs out in victory, and defeat. But the one thing that has really stuck with me this postseason is the media's pure hatred for Manuel Aristides Ramirez. First Manny was hated for admiring his WALK OFF HOME RUN against the Angels. I heard multiple media outlets report how Ramirez had just gone too far. It is ok for a pitcher to pump his fists and yell off the mound after a big out, but for some reason it is unacceptable for someone to throw their hands up in victory after hitting a WALK OFF HOME RUN, which by the way is probably the farthest I have ever seen a ball hit. Ramirez was condemned once again in Game 2 of the ALCS after Mike Lowell followed up a Ramirez game tying home run with a go ahead home run of his own. Ramirez was seen in the dugout jumping off the bench, hands raised, and smiling from ear to ear. This time Manny's pure joy was called "premature celebration" after the Indians came back and won Game 2. Time and Time again Manny has been harshly criticized for his behavior, and by now I have grown tolerant of said criticizms. That is until last night, in Game 5 of the ALCS as FOX's Tim McCarver went on and on about how Manny being Manny was hurting the Red Sox. McCarver jumped all of Ramirez after he hit a 390' shot. It was amazing to McCarver that Manny was standing on first base instead of at second with a double. According to McCarver if Ramirez hadn't been admiring his potential home run he is easily at second. Well let's go back to that hit for a moment. If you go back and look at it, Manny fights the ball off, doesn't hit it squarely and appears to have just flied out, thus the jog to first base. However the ball was hit much harder than anyone, including Manny, had thought and the ball leaves the yard. Unfortunately the umpires get the call wrong and Ramirez is credited with a single. A run DID score on the play, and Lowell flied out next, so Manny being at second would have been a mute point. Now here I have rambled on and on about my boy for long enough, so let me just wrap this up. To all of those Manny Haters out there would you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... GET OFF OF MANNY RAMIREZ'S DICK!!!! The guy is a hall of fame player, closing in on 500 home runs, and has a world series MVP to go along with it. Him watching a home run, or jogging to first is not costing the Sox. He has done nothing but help this team ever since throwing on the jersey. LET HIS NUTS GO!!!
