Thoughts on tonight's "Do or Die" game
I have to say, my Sox have put me though a lot these past few days. Problems with starting pitchers not lasting 5 innings, the faltering offense, bullpen drama, abominable FOX announcers, and those godawful towel-wavers have made for a rather...interesting viewing experience this week. Must-Scream TV, I call it. I've questioned Terry Francona's seemingly inflexible lineup and scratched my head at why talented rookie Jacoby Ellsbury is not given at least one start in center field in place of a struggling-at-the-plate Coco Crisp when it's clear we need an offensive boost. The Red Sox' backs are against the wall, a situation all too familiar to the team and its fans. Of course, some of the best moments in Sox history have happened in these "Do or Die" situations and when these moments do happen like that, they're all the more magical.
Tonight, we have our ace on the mound. Josh Beckett has been a phenomenal post-season pitcher. If anyone can right this ship, it's Beckett. Despite my hopes for a lineup shake-up, I know it most likely will not happen so I'm rooting for the guys Francona puts out there tonight. They all know it's "do or die" and I have faith that they will play their very best tonight and those who are struggling may even surprise us. So yes, I still believe! After all, these are the Boston Red Sox! They always like to make things a little more interesting. LET'S GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!
