I'm the type of guy, and maybe this isn't why i'm cut out to be a GM, I'm one that looks at the whole, and not just at the current performance of a player: To Me Tavarez has been a really good guy to have in the Pen, and has done us well especially last year, had some good key spot starts, and didn't get us too deep in problem, but I guess I just hate to see such a "GOOD GUY" go. . .
I know I know. . baseball aint about good guys, but about good players, and utilizing your talent TODAY and for tommorow, and making moves that will help you out in the long run, and I have faith in Theo for making the right decisons.
I am human, and I admit, there's one issue on the team that I did react to how someone is doing lately and not overall, and since then I have concurred with a lot of people, that trading said (last years starting CF) for a pitcher, might not be the best idea, and have 4. . to let them break regularly. so Yes I'm human, Yes i was wrong time to time and Yes i do make mistakes (ok folks, mark this down).
BUT, I do not envy Theo for having to let a guy like Tavarez known, yes He's played on almost every MLB team, but he was the epitome of the sox, team player, there when we need him, and he was nails last season on occasion and did what he had to. I mean come on, he's one of the WORLD champions!
So My Rant is done, sorry.... I will Miss ol JT : ) BUT. . BRING 'EM ON it's BASEBALL SEASON BABY.... Let's Go Red Sox! Repeat in 08
