Q: Who is your favorite player?
A: David Ortiz
Q: What was the best season?
A: 2004
Q: My most memorable Red Sox related memory is...
A: For a fan of over 30 years, it sure is an undaunting task to pick ONE moment that stands out over the rest. The disappointments, the victories, the jaw-dropping ball play, the thrill of each pitch - and you want me to pick one memory? I guess it has to be after realizing we had finally won the World Series - the slow realization that the "curse" was broken at least for a year and now what was I going to do. I watched the video where Dennis Leary finally had to give up his left nut due to the Mastercard priceless police coming to collect and laughed until I cried. That's when I realized I'd be all right because we'd probably have many more moments to cry, laugh, cheer and yell about.
Q: If I owned the Red Sox I would...
A: GET JIM RICE INTO THE HALL OF FAME! Oh and somehow try to erase the memory of "Butterfingers Buckner". I stupidly called my late father-in-law at the time (who was a Mets fan) and stated, "We finally did it. They have announced that Barrett is the MVP." Hell who wouldn't celebrate, we were ONE STRIKE away! Routine ground ball to first - seen the play many thousands of times - then I cried and cried for another 24 years. So erase that memory, it is not memorable in a good way :)
Q: If I could ask one current or former Red Sox player or owner one question, I would ask...
A: I would really like to ask not a Red Sox owner, but George himself, does he really TRY to beat out the Sox on the deals, or is it just coincidence? And truly is it worth it? The yankee fans are not as loyal as the Sox Nation - just ask A-Rod! (But don't talk to Demon!)
Q: The Yankees are...
A: the Stankees, The Evil Empire They may be good, but I don't have to like them!
Q: My favorite stadium other then Fenway Park is...
A: there is no other! KEEP FENWAY
Q: I wish Fenway Park had...
A: more of my old favorites still playing, maybe in a memorabilla wall or video room or something to that effect.
Dream Team was extremely difficult for a long-time fan. I would have selected about 3 Dream Teams with a complete bench and bullpen :) Lived in NH most of my life until I moved down to NC - miss the New England sports teams! Been a Sox fan for over 30 years. I remember listening to the radio while going to sleep just so I wouldn't miss the game. Of course, it was horrible getting up for school the next morning! But I listened to Yaz, Burleson, Lynn, Hobson then Boggs, Remy, Rice, Dewey, Fisk and a countless number of mediocore pitchers play some awesome games.

lol yeah but if you're assembling the Dream Team you want the best in franchise history and no one has more saves in a Sox uniform than that man. posted @ 08/10/2007, 2:17pm |
