Q: My most memorable Red Sox related memory is...
A: ^^Why can't I elaborate on that^^ First of all Josh Beckett is probably the only reason why I had a good birthday in 2003. You see My Birthday is October 15, and John Burkett won his last game as a MLB player on my birthday *ironically he was the last pitcher to wear 19 before Beckett and won on my 19th birthday* the next day we lost *game 7* I was so pissed I didnt get my wish of a World Series birth that I was hell bent on being a fan of the national league representative. I've paid attention to the Marlins in the past and loved the fireryness of Beckett, so I figured if there was a god Beckett would pitch the game of his life against the Yankees and if so I would be his biggest fan for life, and well the rest is history :) My first sox game May 18, 2003. It was the day before senior finals and I got to see John Burkett pitch against John Lackey when they were the Anahiem Angels. I cried when I saw the green monster :) I bought a souvenir soda but left it on a seat when I went behind home plate :( Opening Day 2005 with Matt-suzaka *you still kick ass even though you willingly moved to Vegas* He's got a video of the pennants dropping from the monstah and me screaming my head off so the people on the monstah can hear me Watching game 4 of the World Series with my brother, balling my eyes out when I saw Johnny Pesky hold that trophy. Meeting Johnny PEsky on opening day of 06' Getting hit in the stomach by a ball Millar threw while playing catch in the outfield on memorial day 2004. He signed the ball for me after asking me repetedly if i was alright. My first Red Sox/Yankees game. It was at Yankee stadium and there were so many Red Sox fans, it was amazing!!!! The green monstah game with Ashlee, and the square burn mark on my chest!!!
Q: If I owned the Red Sox I would...
A: get rid of the red sox nation program because I dont need the plastic card to prove to anyone I am a fan....I have the lisence plate, bumper stickers, baseball cards, plaques, pictures etc., heck even my debit cards and bank checks have a red sox logo on them!! I'd build a new Fenway and use the old Fenway for a minor league team...I'd have bobblehead nights and things like that because it is nice to give back to the fans who pay alot of money to see the sox live in action....and most importantly I'd sign Martin to a major league deal so he could bunt the ball all over the green monster :)
Q: If I could ask one current or former Red Sox player or owner one question, I would ask...
A: Varitek who is yogo instructor is...anyone who's seen him stretch and warm up in the bullpen before a game knows what I'm talking about, the guys flexibility is amazing!!
Q: The Yankees are...
A: The American League team in New York. A team who prior to Steinbrenner taking over as owner won 20!! of there 26 world series, since then they won six and three of them were in a row. They threw Bernie Williams *who in my eyes was the classiest Yankee they had* to the curb like yesterdays trash for Johnny Damon *A guy who wouldn't know class if it slapped him in the face*. There a team whose fan base is diversly mixed between hard-core fans like ourselves,band wagon fans who don't even know this is Miguel Cairo's second stint with the Yankees *or don't even know who he is!!!!* and fans who completely take the rivalry too far *i.e. the game i went to at the bronx when Francona went to the hospital with heart problems, the guys hanging out there were so heart-less I wanted to kick em in the nuts so bad*
Q: My favorite stadium other then Fenway Park is...
A: aside from Fenway I've only been to McCoy, Shea and Yankee so it is a little hard to pick, but I'd love to visit them all one day especially Camden Yards :)
Q: I wish Fenway Park had...
A: It's perfect the way it is *ok I'm old school what can I say* However, me and season tickets would add a certain flair to the ole ballpark :)
Well besides the given, I'm currently in College working on my associates degree so I can transfer over to Northeastern and work on my doctorate in either Pharmacy or Chemistry. My DREAM JOB is to work at Dana Farber in Cancer Research. Being a female sports fan is kinda hard. Every guy automatically assumes that because I'm a girl that I have alterior motives for liking the players I like. IT'S NOT TRUE!!!...so what else...My favorite color is red...I'm not an official member of Red Sox Nation nor do I think I need a stupid plastic card to proove I am a member of Red Sox Nation...My room is almost all Red Sox...I consider myself their biggest female fan :) My favorite players on the 2007 team are Josh Beckett and Alex Cora...go ahead and laugh but someone needs to show some appreciation for the bench guys :)...I'm also a silverchair fan, and enjoy working out, playing baseball, tennis, pool, air hockey, or anything else that is interesting...if you wanna know more about me you can visit my MYSPACE at www.myspace.com/likesmysoxred
