Questions and Answers

Q: Who is your favorite player?

A: Dustin Pedroia

Q: What was the best season?

A: 1967

Q: My most memorable Red Sox related memory is...

A: from a Sox-Mariners game back in 1997. Former Celtic great Rick Fox sat in front me with his young son in the second row by the visitors' dugout, and Ken Griffey Jr. brought out a signed, game-used bat and handed it to Rick's son right in front of me, although initially, it looked as if Jr. was handing it to me. But in the end, I got the opportunity to hold the bat and take pictures and all that, but looking back and thinking that if it had happened now, I would have been out onto Yawkey Way in milliseconds with Junior's bat in hand.

Q: If I owned the Red Sox I would...

A: invest even more money into player development and scouting. The emergences of players such as Kevin Youkilis, Jonathan Papelbon, Jon Lester, and of course, Dustin Pedroia, (also note: Hanley Ramirez) show that stockpiling young talent can quickly give a club strong contributions at the major league level for minimum dollar. We'll soon see a new batch come through Fenway once again with Ellsbury, Buchholz, etc., -- all in credit to Theo, Cherington, Hoyer, and Co.

Q: If I could ask one current or former Red Sox player or owner one question, I would ask...

A: Theo Epstein .. just HOW he does it.

Q: The Yankees are...

A: slowly becoming a mess in my opinion. Too much money has been spent in the wrong places (Pettitte, Clemens, Giambi, Damon, Igawa, etc.) and it seems now as if it is a less desirable place to play as A-Rod and Abreu will probably sign elsewhere after the season. Especially with Steinbrenner no longer as powerful as he once was, the Yankees might finally hit that slight decline Sox fans have been waiting the last 11 seasons for (in which the Yanks have won the division 11 f*&kin' times).

Q: My favorite stadium other then Fenway Park is...

A: Camden Yards in Baltimore. I was downtown to see the Sox take on the Orioles in October 2004 and the location, environment, and ballpark itself are all absolutely beautiful. It's just unfortunate that fans don't show, unless of course the Sox or Yankees are in town, and that the Nationals will come in soon and take all attention away from the O's with a new stadium in D.C.

About Me

What's upppp my name's Mike and I attend Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. I've been a season ticket holder since the 2005 season and there's simply nothing better than visiting Fenway at any time of year. In 2004, I was at the Fens for Ortiz's ALCS Game 5 winning hit (and stood on my feet for 5 hours and 48 minutes straight before Papi delivered) and I was also up in the Monster Seats for Game 1 of the World Series against the Cards. I've also kept a scrapbook ("daaaa book") for nearly four seasons now, covering every regular season, postseason, and off-season since the spring training of 2004. My favorite current player is the man himself, Dustin Pedroia, because the skills he possesses - at only 5-foot-8 and 175 lbs - are incredible. And no, I am not one of the ones who was calling for Cora in April before DP hit .415 in May and became a staple in the Sox lineup. For anyone on Facebook, check out my group in honor of the second baseman: "Dustin Pedroia's Quest for .300."
