Why do some attack their felllow fans?

Red Sox Nation is a family to me. I know people have different opinions, but we should learn to accept that, and for God's sake, STOP THE NAME CALLING.

Girls who wear pink hats are labeled, Pink hatters, and Bandwagon fans......

If a guy wears a green one, is he a bandwagon fan? Think about it......

Let's try to respect one another's opinions, even if we don't agree with it....

We should be UNITED. We have ONE common goal, if I'm not mistaken....SO PLEASE, STOP THE NAME CALLING! It's childish, rude, and disrespectful to everyone.

Please, let's try and be more respectful to our fellow fans.

No matter where you go in life you'll meet people who have such a low self image that they have to put down others to make themselves feel good. If you've eached adulthood and your claim to fame is that you are a the biggest bacddest sports fan... I'd say, what a waste! We're all fans... no one that matters is keeping track of how big of a fan you are. pink hats started as a statement that you could be a girly girl and still be a sports fan. atom..something I've lived by for quite some time (doesn't ALways work, but I try), your comment about "unless you specify..."; there actually should be no REASON to specify. You realize there are (at least) 2 ways of taking a comment; a good way and a bad way. So unless the BAD way is specified, just take for granted that it was meant in the best light. If you find out later, it wasn't, there's no egg on your face. But if you take it wrong, leave a reactionary comment, then find out the way you TOOK it was wrong, YOU have to backpeddle and well, feel a little foolish. I keep telling myself, "we're all fans here, we're all fans here, we're all fans here" (most of us, anyway). It just makes the journey alittle nicer for yourself and alit nicer for other people. 	play ball is one of the worst of the bunch...Manny did most certainly not "suck", he will be in the HOF, first ballot, should be unanomous (sp). His attitude sucked, he wasn't great in the field, but offensively he was THE MAN, and he deserves respect for what he did for this team (again, I was one of the most vocal "get manny out of here" guys.) 08/02/2008 12:58 PM

In my opinion, we all knew, for several years, quite well that Manny Ramirez had significant character flaws. You knew it when he didn’t spend time with kids suffering from cancer, you knew it when he contributed nothing to the neighborhood where he was raised, you knew it when he couldn’t spend a minute consoling wounded veterans, you knew it when he would take days (in 2005/2006 weeks?) off with mysterious ailments, you knew it when he was sent to the plate to pinch hit and took three pitches right down the can against Mariano Rivera, you knew it when he complained of sore knees and an MRI revealed no visible damage to either knee yet Manny was too sore to play against Hernandez in Seattle and Chamberlain in Boston, you knew it when he assailed Red Sox Management with fabricated claims of being mis-treated, you knew it when he demanded repeatedly to have his options renewed or be traded, you knew it when …. Think about it though. In EVERY professional sport, from the beginning of time, after a team wins a championship their fan base ALWAYS INCREASES. Just human nature, people like a winner. mean, even myself, being in DC with no team, and hating the O's because of their ownership, I didn't become a Sox fan until 2003. (I know, just made it, right??) Oh yeah, sure, friends of mine from Boston give me sh*&t about the "timing" all the time, just the way it is.... Well Lisa, no real EZ answer. I am always respectful even when I don't agree at all. I don't use profanity and address people politely. Besides, name calling and profanity weaken the point you are trying to make. Maybe some people shouldn't write a blog every time they have a knee jerk reaction. Try a post, it goes to just your friends and is for the short stuff. I've been here a while and am used to much better blogs than a few lines designed to incite, or just to vent, which I've seen a lot of lately. (Not Yours) BTW, Pink hat is an erroneous term, my Mom wears a pink hat and she's been a fan a long time. Pink is also symbolic of fighting breat cancer, and God knows I support breasts! LOL. The correct term is fairweather. Some people never post a positive blog, or something creative and funny, just throw out some poison and get everyone stirred up.
