RSN14~RSM~

08/10/2007 11:49 PM

MORON=Madcap180
08/10/2007 11:50 PM
jtsredso..
if he would have pithced the 8th and the sox hold on to win then yes..he gets the win...
08/10/2007 11:51 PM
RSN14~RSM~
Daisuke had recorded the last out before the sox took the lead, he would have gotten the win

lets just push everything back an inning and go through this...say it was 1-0 going into the top of the 9th and Dice k pitched the full 8. then we score say just 4 runs so it is a save situation and papelbon comes in according to you guys papelbon would get the win but he would really get the save and dice k would get the win
08/10/2007 11:52 PM
jtsredso..
yes he did...in the 7th
08/10/2007 11:53 PM
RSN14~RSM~

08/10/2007 11:53 PM
butters
they didnt officially bring gagne in yet i dont care if Dice k knew he was coming out they dont make the change until they go out to play the field
08/10/2007 11:54 PM
jtsredso..
if you look at the all-star game (i had an argument about this with my friends' brother) Beckett pitched the bottom half of the inning, and the AL took the lead for good the top of the next inning and he got the win
08/10/2007 11:54 PM
butters
the 7th..that inning is over...move on to the 8th...did dice record an out...no he was gone...

I cant believe how stupid you are rsnfan14 you are 43 and still dont understand, how do you call yourself a baseball fan
08/10/2007 11:55 PM
jtsredso..
I know im pissed they lost but it would have been nice to see Dice K get 14 wins which he would have despite what you guys say
08/10/2007 11:57 PM
jtsredso..
you two are dumb. Dice-K was the last guy on the mound before the Sox took the lead. another good example is in extra innings, the away team's reliever pitches the bottom of the 11th. in the top of the 12th his team takes the lead then the closer comes in the bottom half. the guy that pitched the 11th gets the W and the closer gets a save
08/10/2007 11:57 PM
butters
not the point madcap i know it sucks walking but you could admit you were wrong
08/10/2007 11:59 PM

I dont care if he leaves the f*&king state of maryland until the sox take the field that inning he is the pitcher of record
08/11/2007 12:03 AM
jtsredso..
madcap you are wrong
08/11/2007 12:03 AM
butters
did you even look at the box score i posted? my guess is no
08/11/2007 12:04 AM
butters
what madcap is refering to is if I come in with a 2 run lead then blow it and my team scores 5 runs the next inning I would get the win but really dont deserve it
08/11/2007 12:05 AM
jtsredso..
yea, but that involves two lead changes
08/11/2007 12:06 AM
butters
I know but madcap misunderstands that rule but whatever we know we are right so who cares what these boneheads think

Rule 10.17(a) Comment: Whenever the score is tied, the game becomes a new contest insofar as the winning pitcher is concerned. Once the opposing team assumes the lead, all pitchers who have pitched up to that point and have been replaced are excluded from being credited with the victory. If the pitcher against whose pitching the opposing team gained the lead continues to pitch until his team regains the lead, which it holds to the finish of the game, that pitcher shall be the winning pitcher. (b) If the pitcher whose team assumes a lead while such pitcher is in the game, or during the inning on offense in which such pitcher is removed from the game, and does not relinquish such lead, is a starting pitcher who has not completed ...View More

this whole argument was based on if the bullpen DIDNT blow the lead I know once it was 5-5 it was a no decision for Dice K
08/11/2007 12:19 AM
jtsredso..
If we would have won 5-4 Dice K would have gotten the win
08/11/2007 12:19 AM

if the bullpen hadn't blown the 5-1 lead, Dice-K would have won

I give up rsnfan if we would have won the game 5-1 Dice K gets the win he was the last pitcher on the mound before we score all the runs If gagne would have pitched a scoreless 8th and 9th he would get a save Dice K win, Gagne- Save...the rule you keep showing is for a completely different situation
08/11/2007 12:24 AM
jtsredso..
just like madcap said...dice k was already out of the game...but you now what..i'm sticking to my story..it sucks we lost...next subject..

If its tied and the inning ends then the visiting team comes out and goes ahead, the pitcher of record is the pitcher in the game when the inning ended. In this case Matzusaka finished the inning for 7.0 innings pitched. Then the Sox took the lead in the top of the inning while he was the pitcher of record. When the bottom of the inng comes and a new pitcher comes in, he is now the pitcher of record. ...View More

34*Trigg..
Edit: It wasn't tied after the inning ended. But Dice K finished the inning and was still the POR when the Sox scored 5 runs.
08/11/2007 12:48 AM
34*Trigg..
so basically you are agreeing with me that Dice K would get the win had we not blown the lead...correct?
08/11/2007 12:48 AM
jtsredso..
the pitcher that came in..the bottom of the 8th..i'm confused

it counts as a blown save for okajima but gagne technically blew it Dice K would have gotten the win you gotta believe me on this
08/11/2007 12:50 AM
jtsredso..
ah sh*&t we still lost....dice k never threw a pitch in the 8th..thats all i know...
08/11/2007 12:53 AM
RSN14~RSM~
Oki go the blown save because he allowed the tying run to reach base and score.
08/11/2007 12:57 AM
34*Trigg..
ya..and he was trying to save it for gagne..the new pitcher of record....
08/11/2007 1:03 AM
RSN14~RSM~
okie got the blown save? SH*&T i thought he just got a loss i forgot he came in before the game was tied

Gagne cant handle boston, and he is sucking. so, i dont understand why he even is pitching anymore. & Dice-K would have gotten the win
