Listen Miss Crabtree AKA Red SOX mamma

Neither my wife nor I need parenting advice. We know quite well how to properly raise our children and the importance of education. Butchie is a bright articulate four-year-old starting kindergarten!  Who by the way already reads on a second grade level, does basic addition and subtraction. and is so well spoken people meeting him for the first time have a difficult time believing he is just four! Now I am sure waaaaay up there in cow town you give out blue ribbons at the county fair to four year olds who can say their A.B.C’s and showcase them next to Zuckerman’s famous Pig! But my wife and I hold our children to higher standards. Having said that if you had read any of my previous blogs about my wonderful little boy you would have realized all I was doing was sharing a cute story about how he feels about his Sox

P.S. if I choose to let him stay up and watch the World Series (again) this year with his older brother and sister, the later who is an honors student! It is certainly none of your business! But I can tell you he will have a great story to tell his friends in college 15 years from now! And you can bet it won’t be the university of Vermont.

Murph I understand defending yourself in this situation but everyone else on here knows you and your wife are great parents. Just the idea your son had about the Jimmy Fund is proof of that. You have a great son and we all know that he got that way because of his great parents. Go Murph, Go Mrs Murph and Go Butchie!!!! Always and forever, Go Red Sox!!!

Murph, you are clearly doing ALL the right things with Butchie and we LOVE these blogs from a child's perspective. Redsoxmomma clearly has no sense of humor and I wouldn't want her teaching anyone I know! Reminds me of the English teacher in high school who tried fervently to block me from spending the second semester of my Jr. year studying in Germany. Our school was having their first long term exchange program, but because I would miss Hamlet, she was against it! I still speak German and have still have never read Hamlet! How did I get this far without it? LMAO! Some people have no perspective at all! let alone a sense of humor! GO BUTCHIE! GO BUTCHIE! GO BUTCHIE!!!!!! ...View More

BTW, on Jesters blog she said there were 54 states! Like Obama said! No surprise! Then she said it was a typo, there are 44! Some teacher!!!!! I quote- "s'cuze me, Jester...I'm a rotten typist, I meant "44", not 54, ok? Have you never had a typo?" What do they teach in the People's Republic of Vermont??????

Wow...lets just hope that it doesn't get in the water and head to New Hampshire...I work right on the NH/VT border and hope to not become so self absorbed that I try to tell someone else how to raise their children. I can tell you right now, I have twins on the way, due late Feb...and they will be up late watching games with me, as soon as they declare themselves fans! ESPECIALLY playoff games...granted, there are school nights, and bed times, but bonding time with my kiddo's and the Sox is something I WILL NOT miss out on! YOU GO MURPH! ...View More

MURPH,all that will come for you & Mrs.MURPH's decision to allow our friend Butchie to watch the Red Sox as they progress through the post-season is this:He will become a life-long Boston Red Sox fan who will possess a love for baseball that will carry him well in life.Keep doing what you two are doing here...I don't know of any other 5-year old who posts his thoughts on SH.Hey wait a minute...what did I just say ??? ...View More

I thought the story was funny...but when I saw Francona's interview yesterday and he said the loss was contributed by Butchie going to school...it all made sense to me. Anyone that has read about your son, knows you have a very special young man there.

If you read my post carefully, you'd see I said there were 44 *other* states besides the New England states. Yes, I first typed 54....excuse me for being a rotten typist. With that said, I'll apologize for inferring you weren't raising Butchie correctly....that wasn't my intention. Now I'll go off to my real life where I have better things to worry about.....

I can assure you all that not all that come from the beautiful State of Vermont share the same views as others. I think Butchie sounds like a wise beyond his years child and that can only be because of stellar parents. MOST Vermonters have great values and they sure do love the SOX.

I am quite sure your not sorry in the least.. I have run into small-minded people like you all over this country and the world. Your Self-righteous indignant comment I would venture is the norm for you, as you have probably spent the most part of your adult life talking down to and stunting young minds. An attitude like yours I am sure goes over well in the “teachers lounge” as you swap stories about how you put little Johnny in his place, but it doesn’t play in the real world… I would suggest taking a long look in the mirror before resuming your “teaching” job this school year. In fact it maybe time to retire.. Might I suggest getting your self a Tevo. and some therapy!...... once again i would like to thank you all for your support not only for myself but my wife as well ~tips cap~ ...View More

Murph, you're a great Dad! We all know that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even the ones that are wrong! I woke my son up for the lat out of the 2004 WS... He was in 1st grade, but it was HISTORY in the making and he had to see it. My Father was born in 1916 and died in 1992. He never saw his beloved Sox win a WS. (Yeah, they won when he was two years old, but there was no TV in 1918 and he didn't remember it... ) Point being, I watched alot of Sox games with my old man and I saw them break his heart over and over again. Mine, too. My son is of a different generation, but he needs to bear witness for his Grump. It's how the tradition is handed from generation to generation. When you're born to it. You understand. I know the "It's Mom's fault" is a joke. But I also know what she means. Because most Mom's have to be the bad guy, so Dad can be the good guy. ...View More
