bostonsports17 wrote this 21 days ago on |
Yes I am, after weeks of talking with Mark Teixeira and agent the Red Sox came out last night and said that they were not a factor. It was not any person but Owner John Henry who said we are not factors for Teixeira. Which I don't believe I still think they are still very big factors and still have a very good chance of signing the first baseman. Why?? Because the Red Sox are known for not talking about there negotations with free agents until a agreement is in place....

We all know the Red Sox are looking at Mark Teixeira and GM Theo Epstein is very interested in him and might be willing to offer him the biggest contract in Red Sox history. It has been said that Teixeira would prefer to play on the east coast and for a winning team. My final prediction on where Tex ends up is the Red Sox..Why?? Because they have been looking at him for a long time..and if they need and want a big and...

The MLB winter meetings start tomorrow and will last for the next couple of days. The start to this years hotstove has been very slow and cold. I think that the winter meetings will heat up and we will get a few things done with. What do I think the Red Sox are gonna do? Well with all opinions aside I think the Red Sox will eventually sign Mark Teixeira, which might just be at the winter meetings since Tex himself said he wanted to know where he would play by...

Dustin Pedroia was the "short man" who was told several times in his life that he is to small to play in the major leagues. Last year in April Dustin Pedroia almost believed that, as he struggled in his first month in the big leagues. But Pedroia came back that year in 2007 and won the Rookie Of the Year award along with helping the Red Sox win their 2 World Series in 4 years. Pedroia started the 2008 year off fantastic as he was awarded a spot on the 2008 All-star...

Lowe return in making?
|
|
bostonsports17 wrote this 1 month ago on |
Does Derek Lowe come back? I think the Red Sox should sign Lowe, he is no longer a party boy and is much more mature than he was 4 years ago. Lowe has expressed that he wants to re-join the the Red Sox for his second stint with the club. While the rumors have been saying that the Red Sox won't pay the money Lowe wants, I think that is all they will pay and if they get Lowe he would be their biggest pitching addition.

Dustin Pedroia is heating up MVP talks
|
|
bostonsports17 wrote this 4 months ago on |
Dustin Pedroia has vaulted to the forefront of the American League Most Valuable Player race with some astoundingly hot hitting recently - he's batting .480 over the last two weeks, with five homers in 59 at-bats, and there are various other small sample sizes that are just as impressive (he's batting .615 thus far in September, for instance).
But what's truly remarkable is that Pedroia's actually been a non-stop offensive force since the early days of summer.
On June 13,...

bostonsports17 wrote this 4 months ago on |
Even though it wasn't a sweep I thought the Red Sox did great in this series. They officially have buried the yankees season ending their playoff hopes. The offense and pitching wasn't bad at all this series. It was nice to see Mark Kotsay get a double his first game. Paul Byrd did great and Wakefield was ok. To me Lester did great but didn't pick up the win. What are your thoughts on the series??

The Red Sox would like to add relief help, and one of the interesting names in play is Colorado reliever Manny Corpas, reports the Globe's Nick Cafardo. But he warns: "Before you think that the 25-year-old righthander would be a nice fit for the Red Sox, consider that several teams with worst records than Boston would put in a claim for him. Corpas signed a four-year, $8.025 million extension with the Rockies in February ... Mostly a set-up...

|
bostonsports17 wrote this 4 months ago on |
Jason Varitek has been a big part of the Red Sox 2 World Championships that he has been on. He has handeled the pitching staff so well. And he makes the young pitchers feel right at home. He has been the Red Sox catcher for 11 years and has caught 4 no hitters and two world series which were successfully won by the Red Sox. His defense is the best but his offense has peaked but not up but down and this year is only hitting .215 and is in a year long slump. ...

On Friday -- for the first time -- he gets a chance to pitch, not speak. Byrd will make his Boston debut in the first of a three-game set with Toronto at Fenway Park.
Byrd tossed a complete game in a 4-2 win against the Jays in his last start with the Indians on Saturday, and he'll look to recreate his effectiveness...

Lynn spaces his trips out -- one in April, another in July and one more in September. And when he comes back, he takes pleasure in seeing old teammates such as Jim Rice and Luis Tiant. All of the memories start coming back to them.

Manny was sent out to get an MRI and tests came back clean. Theres a highly likely chance Manny was faking it. And not running out grounders could also be a subject.
