Why the Rays don't worry me
July 20, 2008
You know, the Rays have been playing very well this season, a lot better than anyone expected, but lets look at the facts. The Sox have played more games than the Rays, and have played less home games (5 less home games and 8 more road games than the Rays), and they have had significant injuries...the Rays, have not. The Rays pitching staff (mainly Garza and Shields) have been performing over their heads. The Rays have ONE player that is hitting over .300! With all of this information taken into consideration, I really have a hard time believing that the Rays can continue to sit atop the AL East. mark my words, by season's end the East standings will read:
Red Sox
Yankees
Rays
Jays
O's
You can take that to the bank!
