Just In: Beckett To DL

According to RedSox.com the Red Sox have placed Boston ace Josh Beckett on the 15-day disabled list with an irritated elbow. The move is retroactive to August 18.

The roster spot left by Josh Beckett will be replaced with triple-A catcher, David Ross. In 15 games with Pawtucket, David Ross is hitting .207 in just 58 at bats. Ross also has two home runs and 5 RBI in his brief stint with the Paw Sox and is slugging .379 with a weak .254 on base percentage.

	"The news on Josh Beckett is becoming a little clearer. Beckett visited with Dr. James Andrews today and tests on his right elbow all came back clean, according to Terry Francona.
