Lester taking level head to mound

It's doubtful that Jon Lester has had any time to examine the mad methods of Johnny Vander Meer in preparation for Sunday's encore performance against the Oakland Athletics.

In case you missed it, the last time Lester took the ball, he threw a no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals.

But instead of trying to duplicate Vander Meer's feat back in 1938 of being the only pitcher in baseball history to reel off back-to-back no-hitters, Lester is merely trying to perfect the art of being a pitcher the Red Sox can count on every time he takes the ball.
