Sox blessed with young pitching stars
SoxisSickies found this 5 months ago on boston.redsox.mlb.com
These are good days to be a young pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Last Sept. 1, Clay Buchholz threw a no-hitter. On Monday night at Fenway Park, Jon Lester did the exact same thing.

The Red Sox have yet another glittering prospect waiting in the wings in Justin Masterson, and he'll pitch on Tuesday night against the Royals.

With Buchholz on the disabled list, Masterson is just making a one-start trip to Boston. To make room for Masterson on the roster, reliever Chris Smith was sent back to Triple-A Pawtucket. Bartolo Colon will take Masterson's spot on Wednesday, when he pitches the finale of this three-game series.

The Red Sox hope Masterson is as successful in this one-day stint as he was on April 24 against the Angels, when he gave up one run on two hits over six strong innings of a no-decision.
