I heard that it could be the Sox sending a signal to Marlins that they won't be held up for extra cash, as they requested, I think $2 million. We pay his salary and give them $2 million? No way. Keep him, we need him. Not concerned about what he wants, since it changes regularly. We fans want another WS and need him. Pretty sad if the front office feels they have to pay him whether he plays here or Florida. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES! I say if we pay him, he plays HERE! I bet that's how they really feel behind closed doors. After the deadline, he has to play nice to get the next big payday. Might as well finish here and help us! If nothing happens,I suppose that Boston would put him on waivers.If he is claimed,they would get compensatory draft picks.If he clears[and he will],they have until the 15 or 31 of August to make a deal plus the team that does will only have to pay about $7 million of his remaining year's salary.The only reason this won't work is any team will try and get Manny for zero cents on the dollar. 07/31/2008 3:16 PM |

ain't that the truty Mikey, I have read that it is the $7 million that is stopping this deal from being completed, and that talks have resumed with Tampa and Pitt for Bay.
