I normally don't jump in on chats but give this some thought. I don't think Boras is bluffing. It would be stupid of him to. He didn't do it with Damon a few years back. If he ever gets caught on a bluff he'll have trouble ever getting the "big deal" down the road. Having said that this whole thing could be good (if we're not the biggest offer). If Tex pics Boston it will show his commitment to the team. If not it will show he's out for the highest dollar. Any objective sports fan could see that Sox give the best chance for him to win a title (Angels are aging and can't get past the Sox). I think a problem is that he hasn't hit his 30's yet and doesn't feel that urgency to win a title. He thinks it will come. Sad to say if he doesn't go with the Sox he'll be scrambling at 36-38 to sign with a contender before his window of opp shuts. I with it Henry - no one person is above a team (I thought Brady was the exception but look at Cassell). I have enough confidence that if this does not get done Theo will use one of his many back-up plans to adjust the team. For those who said we'd be fine without change remember we're going into 2009 and we didn't just win the title so we're not fine. 2008 showed a great team but not the best. And KS is there anyone more detestable than Boras.... I wouldn't say more but we can make a class: Boras, Steinbreners, Damon, Dan mnfn' Duquette, John McNamarra (for those who really know about 86') and I'm sure the class can get bigger but that's a start.
