Q: My most memorable Red Sox related memory is...
A: wow, gotta pick one, can't do it! Screaming my head off in the middle of the nights those games in the '04 ALCS and then winning it all! Or laying on the floor watching Clemens as a kid with his strike out record setting game on TV, Dad and I whooping it up on every K! I was a kid myself back then. Or watching my son get a ball signed by Wake, Foulke in '04, Papelbon! So many moments, so little space here!
Q: If I owned the Red Sox I would...
A: have no problem finding a date!! Or getting a good seat at the game... every game... all year...every year!! And see the answer to "I wish Fenway had.." below.. I'd be implementing that in a quick hurry!!
Q: If I could ask one current or former Red Sox player or owner one question, I would ask...
A: if the sacrifices they made to pursue their love of the game was worth it? The missed time with family, the loss of anonymity for the well known ones, the continuous grind day after day for almost two thirds of the year for the slim chance to become a champion. Baseball consumes them, is it worth it, do they miss what they miss out on that regular joe enjoys? I've always wondered!!
Q: The Yankees are...
A: playing golf, Wah Ha Ha!! 200 million dollars and they got nothing!! I was right...wrote the following early in the season: And our arch enemy, the hated evil empire ruled by the hot headed owner George Steinbrenner, a miserable little man that believes money is all powerful and can buy loyalty, respect, and bring great rewards. It can't... teamwork and devotion to a cause do that. Who wants it more, who works harder and smarter, who endures until the end? '07 Sox!
Q: My favorite stadium other then Fenway Park is...
A: Baltimore, so far. Haven't got to most of them yet. We will before I die. Every other year my son and I take off to see the Sox away games somewhere different, go to the Fens on the off years, so only seen the East parks, Toronto, Yankee Stadium, Montreal (when the Expos were there), and Baltimore. Not a hard choice considering the limited selection.
Q: I wish Fenway Park had...
A: an opportunity for regular fans that can't afford the amazing seats and opportunities to enjoy them somehow, like maybe a surprise lottery. 10 lucky bleacher fans get moved to the monster or by the dugout, get a tour, food, drinks, an autographed jersey, the works...just an unforgettable visit!! For every home game!! How cool would that be, walk in and get "The Monster Upgrade!" , walk out after the VIP treatment one happy Sox fan!
Sox nut! 37/F My life revolves around my teenage son, my work and the Sox, not necessarily in that order! I watch all the games, religiously and can talk baseball with the best of the boys. My friends tell me they make medication for people like me but what the hell do they know? One's a friggen Yankee fan taking that sh*&t! So I figure there are worse things in this crazy world of ours to be addicted to! I choose the Sox to keep me grounded, unless they do somethig exciting... then I'm off the ground, jumping, screaming, swearing or whooping it up depending on the situation! Yah, I'm a little twisted! Love it!
