You know when people say, "I've been a Red Sox fan my entire life?", but really it just means since 2004? That is DEFINITELY not me. I think I was earmarked by my dad as a Sox fan before I was even a reality. I was wearing a navy blue hat with the bright red B on it before I could walk. I really think that I believed if I wore it for long enough (I would sleep in it) that it would just become one with me. I love the Sox. I'll be having a bad day and think, "but the Sox are on tonight" and totally cheer up. And when they lose, it toooootally bums me out. Its ridiculous, but true. The day after a Sox loss I'll be dragging. I love them.. like LOVE LOVE them. If I could meet any five people in the world, Tim Wakefield would be my number two...only preceded by Taquita and Kaui. I know I know.. most people don't even know who they are, but they are so hilarious they HAVE to be number one. Before the Sox won the series in 2004 I was in Quincy market with one of my best friends and saw a girl with a jankedy Yankees tattoo and said to my friend, "When the Sox win it all this year, I am getting the B tattooed on me". He laughed.
I wanted it done right and it took me three years to come up with the design of it, but I did it last summer. It was super significant to me, but the REALLY awesome thing, as we all know, is that they won it again last year. I'd like to think my B had a little to do with that :).
