About Me

I'm an L.A. native who hates L.A. baseball teams. (Or is it the fact that no one in L.A. cares about them and leaves in the 6th inning.... if no one else cares, why should I?) Anyway, I met my husband (from Western Mass) in 1998 and started watching Sox games with him. My casual interest turned into obsession with my first visit to Fenway in August of 1999. There is something so magical about that place! We've been to another dozen or so games there since... which is not nearly enough, but I get them in where and when I can. We hit every Angels/Sox series, and when they've played the Padres & Dodgers... we've been there too. We were part of the madness that was the Dodgers / Red Sox exhibition game at the Los Angeles Coliseum (as well as the other 2 games of that series). We visited my in-laws in Florida in 2006... and planned the vacation around Sox spring training (went to 3 games). This year (2008) I was lucky enough to be at Fenway the night they clinched a playoff berth. What an amazing night that was!! Between Sonny McLean's, mlb ticket on directv, xm radio, cell phone updates, and mlb.com radio broadcasts online... I watch and/or listen to EVERY game all season long. So.... I may not have grown up in Boston but I'm definitely no pink-hatted 2004 bandwagon fan. :)

My favorite current players are Josh Beckett and Jason Varitek and Dustin Pedroia... but really how can I choose? I love them all (almost).

UPDATE:
Well, he's done it! My husband has convinced me to brave the New England winters and move to Massachusetts. I get one more round of California (non)seasons and then we're off! Just in time for opening day.... 2010. :)
