About Me
Well for starts, I’m 18, I’m from Beverly. On my 15th Birthday, the Red Sox knocked off the Yankees in Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS, my favorite Red Sox moment of all-time.
I started following the Sox around age 7, and if you do the math, that would be during a 78 win season, that saw our Bo-Sox finish in 4th. Since then, I’ve seen Two heartbreaking ALCS losses, One ultra-satisfying life-time defining miracle known as the 2004 comeback, and Two World Championships.
Most of my family isn’t that much into sports, or they follow the local teams casually. The exception was my late great-grandfather who loved to follow the Red Sox, and he had a life-long wish to see the Red Sox sit on top of the baseball world, unfortunately he passed away 10 months shy of seeing that dream finally come true, but it is from him which I believe I got “The Red Sox fan inside of me”
It’s pretty cliché, but I live and die with this team. From Fort Myers to Game 7, I live off of almost every pitch. I’m the typical, Red Sox diehard.
I’ve been known to be pessimistic at times, always fearing and expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.
Fenway Park, there is truly nothing else like it. I’ve been too so many games, I’ve lost count.
I’ve seen Opening Day ring ceremonies, and I’ve seen Later October Grand-Slams. I’ve the seen the good, the bad and the ugly. I’ve sat in the Pavilion and on the monster; I’ve sat in the Right Field corner and the bleachers. It never ever ever gets old.
As for me personally, I’m 18, going on 19. Living in Beverly. Just a Train and Green-Line ride away from “Heaven”.
