Cy Young Race
September 22, 2007
I've been informed by a certain somebody who shall remain name-less that despite Beckett being the first 20 game winner in the majors since 05', that he will not win Cy Young, that in fact C.C. Sabathia will....Well Isham here are the stats and the stats don't lie. The source is MLB.com player comparision

Beckett's walk total might be a little high but factor in his ERA and it does not seem to matter that he has allowed more walks than Sabathia.....K9 almost one higher than Sabathia, Less hits per 9, less homeruns, and not to mention that beckett has the best A.L road record and ERA (second in the majors in both behind N.L Cy Young winner Jake Peavey, who by the way Beckett beat head-to-head in inter-league play) Also If anyone could PLEASE send me Sabathia's record after an Indians loss I would much appreciate that...What will hurt Sabthia more in the Cy Young voting isn't just Beckett's numbers but Carmona is also on his team, which gives Beckett more value as a true ace of the ball club :)
