Ted Williams
May 7, 2008
I am new to this site and have spent some time looking around. What I have found interesting is how some people build their Red Sox Dream Team. For me, it is interesting to see the team Red Sox fans put together.
One thing I can not understand is how anyone can leave Ted Williams off their team!
Teddy Ballgame had a lifetime batting average of .344, with 521 home runs and 1839 RBI. He is two time American League MVP, led league in batting 6 times and won the triple crown twice. To add to this, he is still the last player to hit over .400(.406) in a season and holds the highest career batting average of anyone with 500 or more home runs.
Do not forgot too that his playing career was interrupted twice by service in the military!
Manny, Big Papi, Youk are all awesome but Ted Williams is a Red Sox legend and lifer!!
