This one will be short and sweet.

Just about 20 minutes ago ESPN reported that John Henry announced that would "Not be a factor" in the Teixeira deal.

This is quite confusing to me. Weare the front runners on the verge of signing him and then a mysterious team outbids the Red Sox at the eleventh hour.

I have a feeling that this may be some type of ploy. Maybe to take some of the attention of the Red Sox.

I could be totally wrong, truth be told, I don't want to be wrong.

If this is true, I think it was the Angels.

It would be more beneficial to Boras to have Teixeira sign with the Red Sox so the market for Manny would be bigger. If Teixeira went to the Yankees, then Manny would almost certainly have to go back to the Dodgers for a substancially reduced price.

If it is the Yanks... Hello '03 off-season all over again!

	I was talkin 2 my friend when the news broke and there were 2 teams besides the sox who could afford to bid higher than 184 mill, the angels and yanks...I am thinkin the yanks, I don't see the angels bidding more...and I am okay with this if we get the same results as '04, you know after the whole '03 offseason lol 12/19/2008 12:10 AM
