Friday 12pm: Giovanni is doing well. His morning x-ray shows slight improvement, but he is continuting to breath over the ventilator, so the doctors are stopping his paralytic meds and allowing him to wake to see if he can support his respiratory functions. If he de-sats or is uncontrolable they will re-paralyze him. If he can handle the tube in his throat he will be sedated and then further weaned off the ventilator as he slowly takes control of his respiratory system. He may not be strong enough but we will see over the next hour. The doctors, nurses, and respiratory team are standing by. That which does not kill us only makes us stronger." Nietzsche.
