Everytime I have walked into Fenway Park when I saw the grass my eyes would get VERY big!! It was amazing the very first time when I was a small boy back in the 1970's when our best players made $200,000 a year. I was talking to my brother Rob the other night, and he made a good point about how Manny doesn't let the stress of it bother him.
But if you look at the history, going back to 1941, the press has had a problem with our LEFTFIELDER...now, mind you, I am generalizing; however, imagine someone in today's game batting .406 and finishing SECOND in the MVP balloting....I would be flabbergasted. ( see Williams, Ted.)...
