31 to 250,000
September 7, 2008

I had posted the other day in News & Rumors that Major League Baseball was approaching 250,000 career Homeruns. After yesterday's total of 46, they now stand 31 shy. It looks as though today could be the day.

Here's hoping only 30 get hit, and in the bottom of the 1st tomorrow night, with a sellout record, a Sox player hits number 250,000.

My question would be, is there going to be any fanfare from Major League Baseball for the achievement?

I think that it will get mentioned, but there won't be much about it.

I think that it will be done in a 'passing' fashion;no pomp & circumstance involved with it...
