Angels...strangers in the house
September 27, 2008
With the Sox now playing the Los Angeles California Beverly Hills 90210 Hollywood Palm Springs Sacramento, but not Oakland San Francisco San Diego Los Angeles (or at least the part where a certain Leftfielder resides) Anaheim Angels I thought this meeting I found would be interesting.
First, I want to say the Angels are not that scary. When they beat the Sox six times in July they were in the middle of a very hot month, going 19-6. They also beat up on two weaker teams in their division, Seattle and Texas, going 23-10 versus those teams. One hot month and two weak teams do not make the best team in baseball. They are good, but not that good.
Second, this video meeting. It is between Mike Scioscia, Artie Moreno the owner and Vlad Guerrero. You can see where they tell Vlad that the Sox are in his house and will be running on him, mostly Ellsbury, Crisp and Pedroia. Strange how he chooses to deal with them, but you can see how the years of playing in Montreal has taken it's toll on his body. And he is not too easy on the eyes either.
Reminds me of a few years ago. I went to a shop in Lawrence, and the proprietor was carrying a machete and asked "can I help you"... I told him, "please put the machete down, or I'm gonna leave." He didn't want to lose a sale, so he put it down.
