This day on September 30, 1986.

And a daughter was born.  Not with a silver spoon in her mouth, but, likely, with a silver pen.

Yes, 22 years ago today a little bundle of joy came into the world and it was clear that she was destined to enlighten many faithful Red Sox fans in the years to come with her clever and skillful writing.

Likely, her first words were neither “Mommy,” “Daddy,” or the always reliable “NO,” but rather “balk,” “bat,” or maybe even “hit.”  Maybe even, a little inside baseball here, “fart.” 

That’s right, today is the birthday of our own SPORTSGAL.  She’s all “growns up.”  [If you haven’t seen the movie “Swingers,” run out and rent it today – Hilarious].  But I digress….

Yes, our own Sportsgal is today celebrating her 22^nd birthday.  Dear God, I hope she’s not already vain about age….Perhaps she’s only 21….

Nevertheless, on this day preceding the opener of the big series out in Cali, let’s all wish our ever reliable, capable, and, most importantly, entertaining blog gal the happiest of happy birthdays. 

Prediction – Enjoy the birthday girl while she graces the pages of Sawxheads – She no doubt is destined for bigger and greater things!!
