Last night's fight
June 6, 2008

Last night was a heartbraker. yes i am verrrry happy we won 7-1 but last night was the type of game i hope to never see again. i do luv fights but seeing Coco being knocked to the ground and being ambushed by those damn rays was hard. and then Ellsbury going down but thank god he's listed day to day. i applaud Jacoby for being a hero. he risked getting hurt to make that SPECTACULAR catch. that's what you call A TRUE PLAYER. but the worst part of last night's game was seeing Manny get a little "heated" in the dugout w/ Youk. i know everybody gets mad and i still LOVE Manny but im a little dissapointed that it had to happen in the dugout. i dont like to see people on the same team fight. i know it happens. its natural. but i couldnt bear to watch that. and Youk wasnt even aware of what he did wrong. i guess its another case of Manny being Manny :) anyways Jacoby will be strong and fight his way back and Youk and Manny will settle that minor issue and Coco will be back in no time. altho i have to say that Chris Carter did an amazing job out there. keep the faith everyone!!!

	There's a little 'hockey' in me but you're right in the sense that I wouldn't like it if it produces injuries either.. Mostly, I like the good clean fight, where nothing is hurt but someone's pride. 06/06/2008 2:56 PM

	Well I too hate to see the Injury bug raise its ugly head but ells knows only one way to play and thats all out so injuries will happen . as far as Manny and youk dont worry about it . the sox are family and all family's have spats brothers fight all the time and are quickly over it I'm sure by now its over, 06/06/2008 3:05 PM

I'm with you. I hate to see the fights between teammates as well, but I think that Youk was probably very frustrated that he had to leave his position and play right field. He is usually the consummate team player--hell, I think he's pitch or put on catcher's gear if Francona asked him to. However, with the tensions rising from the fight, perhaps Youk was thinking that he'd be relegated to right field for a long time based on upcoming suspensions, and he was frustrated not only by that, but also by some remark Manny made. Manny may have been joking, but Kevin wasn't in a joking mood at that point. Of course, this is all conjecture on my part. They seem to be fine now, though. They're big boys. They'll get over it. Good thing. There was a line from some third-rate movie that I can't remember, that went, "Hmmm...There's dissension on this ballclub..." I hope there isn't any on OUR team! ...View More
