Good sign, bad sign.

In a way, I've forgotten about Julio Lugo! During the season, I got so used to seeing Jed play at short(even though it should have been ALEX CORA.) that every time I saw Julio in the dugout, or they talked about him, I was like "OH YEAH!"
So when I saw he's getting healthy for next season, I stopped & thought for a split second, "what is going to happen to Jed?" I think that they spoiled him a bit, letting him play like that. I think that Alex is better, & given time to get his swing back, he'd hit better as well.
OH WELL. I'm guessing, with no news of a trade, we'll go back to having one of the most error disturbed short stops in baseball. But hey, WHAT CAN YA DO? haha!

Not resigning Captain Jason Varitek could be the biggest mistake EVER made. But, we SHOULD NOT have to worry about that. (: because our GENIUS GM is going to resign him, & you can count on that. (I'm not above threats! No I'm TOTALLY kidding, I'd never do that.) but I have a feeling, he just can't let him go. Tek's a hard habit to break. Hands down the best catcher in MLB.

Today it was 70 degrees & sunny. Could you ask for more?!

Tek is not even in the top 10 right now...Mauer, Russel Martin, Victor Martinez, Brian McCann, Kenji Johjima, Benji Molina (just to name a few) are all better than Jason Varitek. Also, no matter where Alex Cora plays he is a platoon guy. I don't see a situation out there where he would be a guy that plays 150+ games per season. I hope that they keep Cora, however because he can play 3 positions and spell our better players as SS, 2B and 3B. Jed might spend a little time at Pawtucket if we can't unload the stupid Lugo contract, but he won't be down long...just long enough to get his bat cranked up and that just might leave Cora as the odd man out. 	Kippster, I do agree that platoon guys shouldn't be starters (Alex Cora; 2006) But I must disagree on your top ten catchers list. Mauer, Martin, Martinez, et. al. have never been on a team that's won the ALCS, let alone won two championships. Tek could hit .100 and he's still an integral part of the team. 12/09/2008 6:40 PM

	Tek IS the best most experienced catcher in MLB. He is the best. He's the captain, nobody can handle pressure behind the plate better than he can. At the plate, I've seen better. But when he has that mask & gear on, there's no one better. 12/09/2008 7:45 PM

	Good one. Tek will be back. Cora is great at his job and it is real hard to find a player that can be a utility player. Lugo should be traded but it will be hard. Lowerie is the man. 12/10/2008 7:33 AM

Ehhh, I agree with Jared...Tek is prepared like no other and handles the staff quite well, and yes, has been part of two world series winning teams...but don't you think that if we had one of those other guys (Martin, Mauer, Martinez, McCann, etc) that we would actually be in as an good, and probably better) spot to win more titles? There is nothing wrong with the way any of those guys call a game, and they bring a TON more to the offensive side.
