Here we go again with Timlin....
September 10, 2008

If tonight's game doesnt prove what I've always said about Timlin, then ur on crack! This guy is garbage. He DOES NOT have any pitch in his arsenal that can over power a hitter. He has absolutely no business pitching in this type of game. Wow, as soon as I saw him come in the game for Javy Lopez, I thought, "Game Over, we lose". This guy is a bad pitcher. Just absolutely gets on the mound and under hands every pitch to the hitters pleasure. He has never failed to dissappoint me. Please, this guy has no business pitching in big games!!! Why??

Who else was available? In a 14 inning game you have to make decision s that sometime bite you in the ass.

Better watch yourself, Carlos! Some waste of sperm may threaten to break his teeny tiny little dwarf foot off in your ass, for being a "bandwagoner".

The Rays have the same problem with Percival. As soon as I saw him come in I thought, "Sox win." If he'd have stayed in, they would have won.

yeah, thats true, they kinda ran out of options there. But at that point, I would prefered seeing Chris Smith instead. But it is what it is.

Timlin is getting old, as is Percival. See a trend here? Average pitchers fall off at the end of the season when they are that old. Not everyone is a Greg Maddux!

Mike Timlin deserves more respect than to be called garbage, whatever you think, Carlos. I downrate.

thats fine. I appreciate u leaving the reason why. I just never liked Timlin as a player.

Maddux didn't every rely upon his fastball...these older closers can't throw as hard and they still think they can...I know, I'm older and my mind is willing, but the body sometimes doesn't work as well..that's why I have ungodly breaking stuff...lol

ha ha ....yeah, thats true. I agree. He still has heat, 92 mph fastball.....but he just serves it to the batter....its just heartbreaking man, we shouldve had that game and the one before. My emotions get to me!!

well lets see. we used damn near the entir pen up until that point. so let's see mr manager. who would you have brought in. also. if timlin doesnt give up that 3 run homer you wouldnt be typing this blog would you. he pitched jsut fine until that pitch. timlin has lost quite a bit and prob will be gone the end of the yr. however to act like it was all his fault is insane and shows your lack of how this game is won and lost as a team. ...View More

It's all about expectations. If Tito is going to continue with extreme loyalty to players like Varitek and Timlin, we can expect to miss the playoffs, even. Same with his refusal to have players bunt or insist that they learn how to. We can expect to continue losing close games unless Tito changes. It doesn't look likely.

"the guy throws a few sh*&tty pitches" ....huh?? Ok, the guy is full of sh*&tty pitches. And I wouldve prefered to see Aardsma or Chris Smith....but not Timlin in this type of game. And this isnt the first I write about Timlin.

After his first three successful seasons with the Red Sox, Timlin struggled in 2006 and the beginning of 2007 due to injuries to his right shoulder and left oblique, making multiple visits to the disabled list. In the period after his return from the disabled list through July 23, 2007, Timlin recorded over 14 consecutive scoreless innings and appeared to have overcome any shoulder issues. In the week following, however, he has again experienced shoulder soreness. Since then, however, Timlin has once again stepped in as an important setup man for the Red Sox. ! ...View More
