Mark Kotsay? C'MON!!!! ?????

Mark Kotsay in Boston. . . . who's to say he's really any better than the current crop of our three out fielders? Looking at his stats... 282 career BA. . maybe 6-8 average HR's a year. . I don't know if it makes me drop my cigar in awe. . . Cigar you ask? Yes. .I had a baby boy Born on Yaz's birthday Friday the 22nd, so join me shall we in a congratulatory smoke for the Sox, Yaz, and my tyke Nolan.

Ok. now that that's done. . . what to do with Kotsay? is this a cautionary move since JD is out? What bout our need with Pitching, seems Clay will stay in AA for a bit don't it?

Colon? he the 5th starter? COME ON people we NEED some pitching help..... I love Masterson, and think he's developing into a great player, but we need some relief help maybe a starter, and we go get a CENTER FIELDER? Don't we have the future of the game in CF (and the only one on the team that can play all three outfield positions, in Ellsbury?)

Maybe that's why I'm NOT a GM. but PUHLEASE, what am I missing?

Well, at least we're spanking the Yanks, and will sweep 'em in their last home stand ever, if that aint poetry what is?

I LOVE your comments Ruff! LOL!! When I heard this guy has a back issues, I did a double take, I must say..then I thought, maybe there is something more to the JD thing. I also don't think we are done 'acquiring' players for the year. We may bring someone up from wiwthin...I mean, look how well that's worked! I know I know..not the time to experiment...but THeo has something up his sleeve, I think. Our depth has got us this far, maybe we're just adding to that so we can keep up the reserves. MAN! 	Cali and Ruff have it, it's about depth. I'm happy riding things out with Coco, Ells, and Bay but we've been burned with lack of depth before, Theo isn't gonna let that happen again. Yeah we could have used some pitching too but I think we can ride a long ways with Beckett, Dice-K, Lester, and Wakie starting and Masterson, Oki, and Paps at the end of the game. 08/27/2008 7:58 PM

Terry Francona on his weekly radio appearance on WEEI this afternoon said that first off,J.D.Drew's situation is not as bad off as first thought;second,the biggest reason he was put on the DL is b/c he hasn't picked up a bat in 8-9 days & he'll need some time to get back into 'the swing of things'. Francona came off as it not being that big of a deal,which makes you wonder if it was done just so they could go after Kotsay. The Kotsay deal was an attempt to make the playoffs. The Sox were leaving a lot of runners on base. Now Terry has a decent pinch hitter if he'll use him. For some reason he doesn't use Casey enough to pinch hit. Also, every game now is vital to win. Even if Kotsay can fill in for a few games that MIGHT be enough for the Sox to make the post season. I think Kotsay was signed because JD is in bad shape. This guy is a Dirt Dawg he will be a good fit in Boston. Colon I believe is a steal and could be great for us in September October. He has the experience and knows how to pitch. We just need him get healthy. Byrd is good but I think for playoff success you need power arms and he is not that.
