For our Poet

Word around is that our beloved poet, Jed is trying to leave us. He has done so much for us and contributed so much to this site, I'm hoping this little poem will convince him to come home to his Red Sox family.
The day began with sunshine bright, another day on my favorite site. Came in with my coffee, hot and fresh, logged on and then I lost my breath. My favorite friend on my profile page had disappeared without a trace. No longer could I see his name. Other friends of mine had found the same.
Questions asked. Where could he be? Why, oh, why is he leaving? Something's wrong, we all could tell. No good mornings, my face fell. We've all asked, and we've discussed, Oh Poet, please come back to us.
We need your words, your warmth and faith. We need your poems on the page. Our site is a little dimmer now. Without our Poet, we feel lost somehow. Our friend is in trouble and must feel alone, but he should simply come back home.
We are all connected through our love of Red, but right now, we miss our Jed. Oh Poet, we miss you, please don't fear. Your Red Sox family is always here.
So, whatever you're going through, please know that all of us are here for you. If you need to talk, your RSN/RSM family is ready with a huge shoulder for you to lean on. Just come back.
