I've decided to share both parts of "Awaken" by Yes. Sometimes it's nice to get involved in a nice long piece of music. Enjoy.

MATHEMATICS OF BASEBALL

Okay folks the seating capacity of Tropicana Field is 43,772 people. I figure for this series 30,000 of them will be Rays fans. (Just a rough estimate)
Of those 30,000, 28,000 will probably have cowbells.
Now here is my Mathematical question. How much Vaseline does Red Sox Nation have to provide in order to keep 28,000 Rays fans from clanking as they walk before they can get...

Ps. Please forgive Greg Lake for the horrid sweater he's wearing.

SOMETHING OFF TOPIC

A little while ago for the second straight year, the Mets completely tanked a post season run. It's no secret that I loathe the Mets almost as much as I loathe the Yankees.
So here is my tribute to the 2008 Mets!!

What happened and what was our record after the last time the Yankees pounded us by a score of 19-8?

Alas this is the first time in a long time that the Yankees haven't made the playoffs. I guess 220 + million $ just doesn't get ya what it used to. The following is a little artical from the NY Post. Hank I feel your pain. This song is dedicated to Hank Steinbrenner. Hank, RSN cares, we really do.

PROPOSITION

I know this is more of an NHL thing but maybe we could try it here. I'm suggesting that we grow Playoff Beards in support of the Sox.
And I know the females here are dieharder fans as well, perhaps the female fans could grow Playoff Pitt Hairs.
This may sound a bit out there but it's better than gettting mohawks or shaving our heads.

MONDAY MORNING GREETINGS

∞Why Not Us, Again∞ wrote this 18 days ago on |
I was planning on an NFL blog this morning however the Steelers and Pats both lost yesterday. So I guess my dissertation on how the NFL needs to re-organize it's Conferences must wait till next Monday.
Instead here is a song for everybody. I first heard this as they rolled ending credits in a movie called Finding Forrester. (Great movie by the way)
Here is a newer twist on some...

The following is our record and standings on September 17th from 2003-2008. If you'll notice the numbers are not that far off from where we are now. 2006 is the exception of course.
In five of those six seasons we won at least 95 games. In five of those six seasons we went to the playoffs. In three of those six seasons we went to the ALCS. In two of those six seasons we won the...

Thank you all for your birthday wishes yesterday. My birthday is actually on the 11th but we should definitely focus on other things that day.
So I just need a different birthday. Yesterday won't work because for one it was Margie's (Punk) birthday (she shouldn't have to share a birthday with the likes of me) and it was also an ex-girlfriend's birthday.
From henceforth...

If you haven't heard by now, the Steelers won last night. Even though the game was a wee bit sloppy, I'm still happy about that. Hope everybody else is as happy about that as I am.
I am kind of confused about one thing though. Last night James Farrior got penalized for taunting. Never did quite understand the taunting penalty. Have we, as a society, fallen so far into political correctness that three...

Unless the rains have a say, tonight will be the start of the final ten games of Yankee Stadium as we know it. Ten final games then a six game road trip, ending at Fenway Park, and then instead of a Yankee post season, the Yankee players will be making early reservations at the golf courses. (I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and have Johnny Rotten throw out the first pitch for our first Playoff game) I don't know about anybody else but I've...

Alan Jackson sang this song on the ACM's (I think) not long after September 11th, 2001. I'm not ashamed to admit I was moved to tears seeing this on tv. I'm not ashamed to admit that seven years later this video still brings me to tears.

LETTER TO SCOTT BORAS

∞Why Not Us, Again∞ wrote this 11 months ago on |
Dear Mr. Boras,
I admit that anything causing turmoil to the Yankees and their minions should make me happy. But alas, it doesn't.
I realize that your client, Mr. Rodriguez's decision to opt out of his contract with the Yankees is important news. However leaking out the information so it would be reported in the latter innings of a World Series game left a bit to be desired. I found...
