So what the hell is boston.com doing posting a "rumor" that they had no idea how authentic it was. It doesn't make much sense to me. When it came out and was discussed on WEEI it was brought forth that Manny would be fined/donate a 6 figure number. I heard that and my instant thought was that is no way correct. Granted what Manny did was not correct. I am not standing up for what he did by anmeans. I definately think Manny didn't have to take it as far as he did. With that said. A 6 figure fine donation just didnt seem possible. Players get caught shooting roids and don't get nearly that of a 6 figure fine. Players rush the mound and cause a complete chaos and don't get fined. It just didnt make sense. When Boston.com posted the new article this afternoon they made it a bit more real life stating it was a $10, 000 to $15,000 fine/donation. I think the Red Sox organization made their point clear with that. I think they did the right thing. For boston.com to post a story off of a whim or from someone saying it without verifying it is bogus. The original story posted there had comments up the wahzoo. Then to shut the blog off after the small little mishap. Granted they were courtious enough to repost the right story but all the drama caused from the 1st one was definately not needed.
