Manny, Thanks for the memories!
July 31, 2008
I sit here to write this blog and I am not quite sure what and how I feel after reading and watching that Manny has been traded to the Los Angeles Dogders. I deep down had a bad hunch that this was going to happen. I have been telling myself for the past week that the Sox wouldn't move him. As the week progressed I thought for sure he was going to remain in a Red Sox uniform atleast for the rest of the 2008 season. I want to make it known and clear that I first of all was a Manny fan. 2nd, I may have been a big Manny fan but I do not agree with the antics that has happened in the past few years. It was bound to happen eventually. I mean honestly Manny "made the bed he laid in." He was the only one that really could control his destiny. Its apparent he didn't want to be in Boston anymore. We have been painted a pretty clear picture with all the media exposure over the past couple weeks of what Manny really wanted.
I will say I that I am so glad this drama is gone. However I am disappointed that Manny is gone. Manny has given me many awesome memories that I was able to share with my kids over and over. I am proud to say I was able to watch Manny for a bulk of his career in a Red Sox uniform. When its time for Manny to enter the HOF in cooperstown I will make the trek west and watch him and show him my support as I have. All I can say now is Manny thanks for all the memories you have given me. Thanks for making my kiddos fans of the Boston Red Sox and giving me a similar passion we could share together!
