About Me

My mother became pregnant with me in August of 1986. Two months later, she slept on the sidewalk outside of Fenway Park to get tickets to the World Series. I might not have been born during the 86 WS but, technically I WAS there as a two month old fetus inside the womb of a diehard Sox fan. I like to believe I myself have been a diehard ever since. Seven months later in May of 1987 I was born and here I am 21 years later. I was born a Red Sox fan and one thing I can promise is that I will die a Red Sox fan.

I am lucky I only had to wait 17 years to witness something my Grandfather (God rest his soul) never got to see in his 80 something years of waiting. I'll never forget the years of watching The Red Sox with my grandparents. Every night for 162 days a year, I'd beg to sit with them and watch the games. I'll never forget my very first Red Sox game. Me and my grandmother sat in the front row on the third baseline. Pedro Martinez pitched the game and I went home with a foul ball. I feel so blessed to have witnessed two World Series Championship banners be raised in Fenway for my beloved team in my very short 21-year-old life.

Here we are in 2008, on the verge of capturing three out of the last five World Series Championships. Who is luckier than my generation? I can't fathom the suffering of older generation Sox fans for all those years and I'm so glad we don't have to. My respect and appreciation for you older Sox fans is remarkable.

They say it is good for your soul to believe in something greater than itself. Wherever we go, people tell us that no city has fan's comparable to ours. We are unique. We are passionate. We are real. We have faith. We believe. We are proud. WE ARE RED SOX NATION.

So Red Sox fans, I am proud to be a part of Sawxheads and look forward to reading many of your exceptionally well-written blogs. Thank you!
