Real fans stay for the entire game...

"...and there go the Fenway Faithful heading for the exit..."

I haven't hung my head for a long time at the end of a game. Sure I have been beyond upset after one, but it takes a lot to put me in the type of mood I am in right now. The way the fans acted today after the 3 run home run from Rocco Baldelli is unheard of and surely not what BOSTON FANS are made of! When I heard Chip Carey say the words I have quoted above it made me sick, and then looking up at the TV at work AND ACTUALLY SEEING HERDS OF PEOPLE LEAVING ENFURIATED ME! This is not how the nation acts at time of adversity. Lester lost a tough one tonight but this might be the slap in the face that we needed. We are a much better team than we have showed in this series. WE WILL PREVAIL! We have at least 2 more games at Fenway this season. They will be sold out, and they will be FULL THE ENTIRE GAME regardless of the outcome. That is Boston Baseall. Its such a sad thing that a chunk of the people with the means of attending dont have the some morals as the rest of Red Sox Nation.

To the people who left early tonight, you absolutely disgust me. You are privledged enough to be attending a game that REAL FANS would give almost anything for and you dont have it in you to make it 9 innings. Sure it didnt go the way we had hoped, sometimes thats how it goes! This Soxtober, as new as it is, has never been short of its ups and downs. We just need to look forward to what tomorrow brings! I just really hope NONE OF YOU WILL BE THERE!

	Living down in FL I would give anything to sit through an ENTIRE game at Fenway for this series. There is all this talk about the fair weather fans her in Tampa Bay. We've got to do a better job of supporting our boys than walking out when they're down. 10/13/2008 9:34 PM

i like to think that none of the people here were at the park and are guilty of walking out. there are people who would give their left nut (or ovary) to have been at fenway today, and some popped collar pisstaker with a fat wallet get some sweet seats, and leaves before the end. Maybe the had dinner reservations. If there is one thing I know, do not plan anything after a Sox game, you dont know how long it will go or what will happen. and do you want to be the chump that left and has to listen to everyone talk about the amazing comeback the next day... ...View More

	I couldn't agree more! I was at my favorite watering hole for the todays game and was disgusted in seeing people wear Sox clothing and then boo-ing the Sox! I almost started a fight with 1 big mo-fo. And then to see the fans at Fenway walking out b4 the game was over-pathetic! Ya know, in my line of work-I have gotten many free "corporate" tickets to MLB, NHL, NFL,& NBA games- unbelievably great seats- free of charge. The last MLB game I went to with said tickets the other two seats sat empty until the 7th inning when the two pretty young girls the other 2 tickets were given to entered- dressed to the nines-came and sat down-and proceeded to leave before the 9th inning was over! I've had tickets to an NBA game in a suite where I was the ONLY one actually watching the game! Last NBA game- I had third row seats from the floor and the tickets given to the other couple -well they never even showed up! Another time a business associate called 20 min. before the start of an NBA game and said he "forgot he had two tickets in his wallet to give away to someone for the game!" This is what's happening in the stadiums everywhere. "Corporate takeover" of so many tickets! Most of those tickets don't even go to sports-fans as you can see from my experiences above! Its no wonder- even at Fenway-the so-called fans are leaving before the end of the game! *sigh* Now, if only I lived in Boston and could get tickets to the Red Sox games! ...View More

Nick.... totally right on ! I think that my eyes bugged out of my head in total disbelief as I watched my tv screen here in PA. I wondered what the heck was going on !!! Those that left were quasi-Sox fans and not ones such as us with the deep rooted ties to the Red Sox.
