Manny's quotes last night

Man o man, reading Manny's quotes last night....HILARIOUS

I mean some of this stuff is just classic:

“Why isn’t it going to work out? Of course it’s going to work out. I don’t need a list of teams,” Ramirez said before playing ninth-inning hero in last night’s 6-4, come-from-behind Red Sox  win against the Cleveland Indians. “Everybody knows it’s going to work out. A list (of alternative teams)? For what?

“Like I told you, I’m going to play six years (in Boston), David (Ortiz) is going to play six years,” Ramirez said, “and then we’re going to retire.”

“I like hitting everywhere,” Ramirez said.

“Like a fastball, it was something like 80 (mph),” he said. “Or a changeup. It was right there.”

“I loved going to Boston because it was a big challenge, a big challenge that I was able to do,” he said. “Everything happens for a reason. It was a challenge for me, but it made me a better player. I changed everything (in Boston). Boston never had a player like me. They had Mo Vaughn in the ’90s, but after that nothing like me. I went there and my attitude changed everything."

“Everybody says Boston is a hard place to play. It’s not hard to play. It’s easy. It depends on what you focus on. There are things you aren’t going to like, but you have to look at the good things. Two championships in a city that hasn’t won in 100 years. How can you not like that? What more could you want?”

“I told Ino (Guerrero) right after that we were going to win it all,” he said, a proclamation later confirmed by the Red Sox coach.

These were just in one postgame interview !!!....hahaha...

Tell me which ones you guys like the best....mine is the last one...talkin about how they are going to win it all again...

Just Manny being Manny !

It's amazing, in July, 2005, the press was trying to rile up the boo birds, and have Manny run out of town on a rail -- in a "giveaway trade" -- the Red Sox would get Lastings (Ugh) Milledge. Sometimes the best trade is the one you DON'T make. And even as late as spring 2007, Jackie McMullen and Gordon Edes conducted a disgusting "tar and feather" session on NESN when he showed up at Spring Training three days earlier than expected. The press already had a lot of "bad stuff 'bout Manny" stories written that had to be killed. .............................. The fans here love Manny -- always did. It's the PRESS that stunk.

I was at that game in July of 2005 and the boos were not coming from the press box. They were coming from the bleachers and the grandstands and just about every section of Fenway. It was disgusting. I'm sure the press encouraged it, but it was the fans who did the booing and it was horrible. Lost some respect for the 'faithful' that day. But Manny, as always, got the last laugh.
