Being a BOLD Red Sox Fan!
May 16, 2008
Forgive me folks! I grew up in Northern New Jersey, in the midst of hated Yankee land. Here is the good news. I remained a faithful Boston fan even during the most extreme peer pressure an eight year old could endure.
But I got even...
On April 24th, 2004 (my birthday) I went to a Boston Yankee game in NY. I wore all my Red Sox garb and carried a sign with me that you can look at my profile. The sign basically predicted a 2004 World Series Championship. I stood tall and proud while I was booed by Yankee fans. Boston won that day by the way.
Then I was also at the historic 2004 game 7 ALCS, two rows behind David Ortiz's home run. I cheered on our team and after we beat the Yankees, I stayed until they kicked me out. What a joyous moment.
I felt that after Boston finally overcame the Hated Yankees that I could die a happy man right then and there, how wonderful that Boston also won the World Series. LOL
