BOSTON GOES TO YET ANOTHER ALCS!
October 6, 2008
Dustin Pedroia who has not had a hit during the series looked poised to golf swing another shot onto the Monster. I could just feel it and so could he. That shot was just a rocket into left field. With Ellsbury catching a break on an error in the infield we went up 2 runs.
But what I loved the most up to that moment was Kotsay making that run and dive for a foul ball. He did it again going out toward the field with an over the shoulder basket catch. You can feel the electricity that our team is showing right now. They are on fire and they feel the doors closing in on the Angels.
Let us not forget Lester who has just been lights out for Boston. The announcers tonight have said that Lester is Boston's best pitcher and I am hard pressed to deny that. Also our defense has been solid all around as opposed to the Angels who simply make one blooper reel after another.
Yes Hunter came through for the Angels tonight after a wild pitch by Masterson. For about 1/10th of a second I reflected back to the 1986 game when Boston had the game locked up and first the passed ball and then Buckner. But I dismissed that thought because our Red Sox simply will not falter like that anymore. The passion is just too darn strong.
And so we move on to when Jason V runs the guy coming home from third down. That was the clincher! Then we just needed to get that clutch hit and run that simply arrives with late inning heroics of our lineup. Who would it be? Who would it be? One of our old standbyes or yet another young rookie. I mean come on folks we have Masterson doing his thing. Lester doing his, Ellsbury, Pedroia in their second years (technically) doing their thing. But wait here comes Jed Lowrie. He becomes the man of the hour.
I am telling you folks, the Red Sox are simply on fire!
Well done! Well done! And a giant WHOOOOP! GO SOX!
DRAFTAHOLIC!!!
!
Don't you just love the passion?
