So much chatter on Jason Varitek coming or going. I think he should stay!!!
Jason Varitek's the Pride of the Sox.
When he's behind the plate he's sly like a fox.
Using his computer mind to attack hitters where they're weak,
For Red Sox pitchers it's his knowledge that they seek.
Even though he struggled at the plate all year,
His leadership, game calling and defense are still crystal clear.
You can't put a price on the confidence he instills.
He carries pitchers through games with his iron will.
The Red Sox are a championship team.
They enter 2009 with a World Series dream.
To fulfill that promise our Captain must return.
A new contract shows him the respect he has earned.
With a look to our future, we ponder our Captain's fate.
We need to bring him back, we can't wait.
He's our heart and soul, the leader of the pack.
We need him here to lead the attack.
