Marine Corps

|
The Poet~RSM wrote this 9 days ago on |
Happy 233rd Birthday to the United States Marine Corps!!!! May we have many more!!!
The roar of the Drill Instructor starts the day off right.
The intensity and motivation are high all night.
You run and scramble all day long.
The Drill Instructor always there to make you strong.
Your will is tested and you're so sore you want to wail,
And you always wonder if you won't make it and fail....

Pedroia's Gold Glove
|
|
The Poet~RSM wrote this 11 days ago on |
Always considered way too small,
To play Major League Baseball.
But he kept working every day.
So he could blow the competition away.
Grinding, working day and night,
To make sure his skills are tight.
Fielding, throwing, and hitting the ball,
He made sure he could do it all.
He plays the game with a swagger.
He makes the opposition's hope stagger.
All he does is go out and...

Jim Rice HOF 2009
|
|
The Poet~RSM wrote this 15 days ago on |
I'm sending this and my other Jim Rice poem to every Hall of Fame voter I can find an address for. We gotta get this done. Jim Rice HOF 09!!!!
Jim Rice is a Hall of Famer.
It should be a no brainer.
He put fear in a pitcher's heart.
He dominated from the start.
But he rubbed some reporters the wrong way.
And this still hurts him till this day.
But they should just look at all he has done....

The Poet~RSM wrote this 28 days ago on |
The season and how it ended is finally sinking in. My initial pride has been justfied and strengthened. Overcoming injuries, youth, the Manny distraction, and the pressure to repeat this team has had a tremendous season. I could not be prouder.
I also refelct on losing my son, Jonathan David, this year. He was suppose to be born in September. I was looking forward to rocking, changing, and feeding him while watching the playoffs. I think about it...

Game 7

The Poet~RSM wrote this 30 days ago on |
Game 7 is not a time for poetry. It is put-up or shut-up time. Game 7 is raw. It is basic, fight or flight. Game 7 is all about handling emotions and handling your business.
Game 7 is all about trust. You can't lead off the game with a Grand Slam. You must do your job, do what you can do, and know that your teammate behind you will pick you up. Game 7 means everyone is ready to play, wants to play, and is...

Clutch

The Poet~RSM wrote this 1 month ago on |
This one is dedicated to Rev Ron (aka Boom Boom Bay and Don Darkhalf), he knows clutch better then any of us:
Clutch is something hard to find.
It's a big play when you're in a bind.
Clutch is knowing you will win.
Clutch comes from deep within.
Clutch is coming through for your team.
Just like a childhood dream.
In your backyard, only a Homerun will do.
You know you will always come through.

We are down, but far from out.
Our bats are still filled with lots of clout.
Our gloves are ready to make every play.
Our pitchers are ready to again rule the day.
We are the Red Sox, and we shall overcome.
We are not a group of bums.
We are ready to shock the world again.
My love for the Red Sox will never end.
So stand, cheer, scream, and shout.
Show your love till the final out....

ALCS Prediction

The Poet~RSM wrote this 1 month ago on |
The Rays are hungry and ready to fight.
Thus far they've done everything right.
Clutch base hits, and an exciting web gem.
They have a chip on their shoulder, like it's us versus them.
But the spotlight is on, it's about to get hot.
They've never been here, the Regular Season this is not.
What will they do when they get hit?
Will they fall apart or are they legit?
Here's my opinion, from my point...

Red Sox Built Champion Tough

What do Champions possess that the rest don't?
What do they know that we won't?
How do they consistently succeed?
How do they always lead?
Champions have a will to win.

Every fiber goes into the fight.
They do all the little things right.
Champions know it's all about hard work.
Because at the end of hard work is where success will lurk.

The have a quiet confidence, no reason to be tight.
They've been here before and know how to win.
They've blocked out distractions, and only look within.

It's time for a Legend to finally get his due.
Mr. Pesky joins the elite, the chosen few.
The Red Sox will retire his number for all time.
His overall contribution has been sublime.
Burst on to the Red Sox in 1942.
A brief hint of success, but his country needed him too.
He went off and fought in World War II.
A true American hero through and through.
He has been a Red Sox for 66 years....

Shame on those looking to blame.
