Beings as how the dickweed Yankee fan account still has not been deleted, I thought it would be a good idea for us to talk about our favorite Yankee collapses over the years.

Ps. Attached video is a little Thelonious Monk.  Hope yas enjoy it.

I shall start. My absolute favorite happened back in 1981. I was all of 9 years old so I don't have many detailed baseball memories. But I do remember this. A typical arrogant Yankee fan used to work at a restaurant my family went to frequently. The day after the Yankees lost, my dad took me there. One of the arrogant Yankee fan's co-workers had put up black balloons and black creep paper. A photo of Reggie was draped in black ribbon. But the best part in my opinion was the Reggie Bar that was hanging up with a kitchen knife stuck through it. Ahhhhhhh, sweet childhood memories. God Bless Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, and everybody from the 1981 Dodgers. ...View More

I am going to go with the easy one...2004 baby! A 3-0 lead and a loss in the series..easily the biggest collapse in sports history. Now they have the curse of A-Fraud, have added all these giant egos and will continue to suck ass. It brings a smile to my face...

I thinks I am gonna watch my tape of 2004 ALCS Game 7 this evening. Yankees made big splashes that offseason with adding Kevin Brown, Javy Vazquez, Sheffie, and of course A-Rod to their roster. Amazing how well those big names worked out for them isn't it.

Let us not forget that glorious "4- in-a-row homerun derby" and of course Joba Chamberlain practically reduced to tears because the buggies were bothering him. Nice post, Michael.

Let us not forgot when they were in the 2008 World Series ... on the MLB 2K8 Xbox game a certain member of this site played that is. Cause the rest of the Yanks were golfing!! And just because that certain member is flooding Sawx blogs ... What is a yankee? the same as a quickie, but a guy can do it alone! ;-)

To the Yankee douche-bag. I will say it again because apparently you are too stupid to comprehend, so this is me saying it sloooowly, bring...something... to... the.. table. Bring us factual, insightful material. Any 10 year old can hide behind the computer and stick out their tongue and go nya, nya. If you have an intellignet bone in your body, show it. Why are the Yankees better this year? How will they win the pennant? Perhaps Mike Lowell will knock the crap out of Teixiera at first base like he did Doug Mientkeiwicz. Then what will your 180 million get you. Nick Swisher, that's what. ...View More

I have to say my favorite Yankee Collapse has to be back in 2006 when Kenny Rogers and the Tiggers (who were supposed to get swept) sent the Yankees home. That series made me warmer and fuzzier than I already am and I believe it was just dirt on Kenny Rogers's hand.

I love all their collapses! Looking forward to seeing any or all the steinbrenners collapse(physically) when their overpayed team fails to win it all. Ha ha

Must say "dickweed" is a wonderful term which is not used nearly as much as it should be. Having said that, why all the worry about this joker Yankee fan guy? Big deal. I mean, why can't we just collectively ignore said dickweed and go on with our lives. Seems to me, a dickweed who gets no attention shortly will realize he is in fact a dick and go hide in the weeds. In other words, dickweed guy clearly wants attention, and if we don't provide it, he'll move on. I mean, in a week or so without us giving two craps what this dope thinks, we will likely see him blogging on the Ellen show website, or maybe something just as earth shattering, like maybe the website for the Huffington Post. Trust me, Dickweed boy will be a glimmering figment in our collective imaginations if we just give him the proper attention due -- In other words, none. ...View More

Melvin Mora helped hand a division title to the Boston Red Sox. Mora's game-winning bunt single in the bottom of the 10th inning helped the Baltimore Orioles rally for a 10-9 victory over the New York Yankees, who surrendered the American League East title for the first time since 1997.

MD, you bring up a very good point but for one it's a matter of principle, we have enough drama here already, no need for more. For two, it gave me an opportunity to work in both the word "dickweed" as well as a Thelonious Monk video. And for three, it did start an interesting discussion.
