On the 4th of September 2006 a great Australian named Steve Irwin was killed. Steve had spent his entire life bringing the animals of the world into people’s homes with his energetic TV specials.
Steve Irwin was killed when the barb from a Ray pierced his heart.
To say Steve was a Sox fan is obviously a stretch of the truth. If he had even heard of the Boston Red Sox it would have been in passing. One thing that can be said though is that the world has looked at Rays differently since then. The Ray is not an offensive creature and will not strike unless it fears its life. The loss of a great Australian ambassador has changed our view of Rays. These creatures are now looked upon in disdain.
I like to think that Steve will be watching as the Sox take on the Rays, with a scream of “Sox Rule!” in a way only he can.
So Crikey, lets take it to the Rays, send them back into anonymity where they belong
wow i didnt expect the naysayers to hit it that soon! sadly i have a good idea who it is. i hope it makes them feel big because its quite pathetic in my eyes. :D 10/08/2008 8:54 AM
