Facing the Facts
October 20, 2008

This season was a blast regardless of the outcome of the postseason. The toughest part of the ending is not that we lost in game seven but its facing some of the facts like we do every year this time about our current players up for contracts. I love varitek...as painful as it has been the past 5 years to see him hit, he is much more valuable to the team in ways that cannot be measured by a batting avg, or and OBP.

Wow , you could read that a couple of different ways . (1) He is very proud of what he has done up to this point , but , the body language may suggest that his body has had enough . (2) He's Proud of the effort of his team mates and wants to stick it out for another year . (after all this group of guys are AWESOME together )Either way He's been proud to be a Red Sox Player . I am ready to see a new catcher. I love Tek and his contributions through the years. I have to comment on the comment above.... If your comment rings true, wouldn't Tek be TOTALLY responsible for Beckett's game 2 and Lester's game three? These guys are proffessional athletes and pitchers. I am not trying to downplay Tek's knowledge of opponents and the time he puts into pouring over video and stats, but I'll be pretty upset to see Scott Boras try to get Posada money for four more years of Tek's offense. 	Are you kidding ? I have not seen a catcher after the pictcher blows of the sign and Tec give back and say yes this is the pitch now do it for along tim. Tec can play for this team untill he says its time. trust me he will tell us, he is very high class. 10/21/2008 12:42 AM
