Sympathy for the Devil?
May 5, 2008
As I was watching ESPN today on this Fitfth of may i Smiled for a few reasons.
I smiled when the Celtics won the game 7 of the first round of the playoffs.
I smiled when the Sox came on as they swept the Rays.(as they should)
But Most of all, i smiled to know that ERIC GAGNE is no where near Boston. Eric Gagne has blown 5 saves this season ALREADY. Thinking about this further i questioned myself for about two seconds to show sympathy for the FatFuk. Nope. NONE. ZIP. ZILCH. NADDA. not one ounce of sympathy.
I think its pretty safe to say that whatever success he has had in his career can be chalked up to "Performance Enhancing Success." It says juice all over his forehead. (allegedly)
Bringing me to my next point. Manny Del Carmen.
I love the kid i think hes great to have in the clubhouse. HOWEVER, he is having a GAGNE-esque start to the season. I really hope he is sent down to the minors to REALLY work out some kinks. I think its just as simple as a mechanic/confidence issue. He is young and can work it out. But you cannot keep putting the kid in the game in his current condition. I believe you are only harming him by playing him when something is obviously not right with his mechanics.
Finally, I would like to praise Okajima. The man has been truly an unsung hero with PHENOMINAL NUMBERS. on more than a couple occasions we have brought him in to "do or die" scenario's...AND HE DOES! I feel just as comfortable with him coming to the mound as i do with J Paps.
Lookiing forward to Detroit...gonna be a good series...
LGRS!!!!!
