Welcome Red Sox Nation Governors... BUT
November 16, 2008

Some folks over on the 2008 RSN board might like to be honored with your presence...  and...

It might be good of you to go over there and actively seek feedback from active RSN card-carrying members -- we are less than four weeks away from the first 2009 ticket sale and Christmas at Fenway....

And,  perhaps,  the New England governors,  at the very least ,  could make an appearance at the Christmas at Fenway event....

Only a suggestion or two...

I understand what you are saying. We do keep in constant contact with each other... daily. We are always trying to think of a way to get together and conect fans. But we do it through e-mail.

Hello from Florida. I think it would be a good idea. We do try to keep in touch every day and your suggestions and idea are what we need to help us out. Thanks

Well it seems to me that we've all been seeking feedback from active RSN card-carrying members (in our home states) all along. Not sure if I'll be able to further the cause for Red Sox fans in Vermont by attending Christmas at Fenway, but regardless I'm hoping to make the haul.

My point is - there are at least 12 governors on this board, and I haven't seen that many on the RSN members' board. Nothing wrong with hanging out at Sawxheads, but, you guys/gals should be over on that board, too. That's where the dues-paying members are.

...do what you want, that is my theory on the whole thing. It isn't like you are raking in large salaries to be a governor.

Good post, the governors are coming together, please be patient with us, especially those outside New England, as we learn the ropes of our roles.

Yes, Message Boards are nice... but there are other ways to connect to the fans of their home states and their job is to work with all Sox fans in their state not just those paying the dues. For instance I don't think the South Dakota Gov. would find great success receiving feedback and ideas from all of the Sox fans in her state posting on the board that is only viewable to the fifteen 2008 card carrying members out there. I myself use the RSN board when I am seeking feed back but find that I have better luck with email, sawxheads, facebook and getting out to seek opinions in person at watch parties, around town or even at Fenway. ...View More

I try to get on the RSN board when I can.. Now that our emails our out there, it is just as easy to reach any of the respective governors. Gov'nah, RSN - TX

I think that you are all doing a splendid job (well, maybe not the NH governor...but I was biased towards Brad Baker for that post). You aren't being compensated for this job, and I think that anything that you do do is more than what is "required"...keep up the good work, don't quit your day jobs (as I said, this governor gig doen't pay!) and hit as man fans as you can in as little free time as you have! Kudos to the active governors on a job well done! ...View More

Those are excellant suggestions and posting on the RSN board makes perfect sense. Unfortunately for me personally, there doesn't seem to be any Nebraska RSN members there. If you know of any, I would extremely grateful if you would let me know!

I'm a member of that board but don't visit all that often. That fact is very misleading because I am very, very active in the Red Sox Nation internet community.

Love the Christmas at Fenway idea by the way, I'll rally up the Capozzi family and see if we can't make a day out of it!

The governors are always available by email and I think I can speak for everyone in saying we are all eager to be a strong link with the fan base and the Red Sox organization. I would plan on attending any event that is upcoming at Fenway including Christmas at Fenway. We are all easily accessible by email. Feel free to drop me a line. Your Massachusetts Governor is fantastic. Jared is doing an outstanding job. ...View More

I agree, my gov is doing a great job. I think the situation is that there isn't enough of a "gubernatorial" presence in the 2008 RSN board, and that's where a lot of people post their lamentations about tickets, etc. With the first "on sale" coming up, the govs, particularly the NE govs, should check in there.

Good post, Greg. I received one e-mail about contacting my "governor," but it wasn't from my governor himself--it was from Rob Crawford, asking for ideas from those of us who aren't governors on how to better serve the fans. I check this site and the RSN site daily (oops, I was away this past weekend--guess I should say ALMOST daily), and I haven't seen much from him.

Just a point of clarification, the Governors do not have access to any of their state's members yet. I'm sure the Red Sox are trying to protect themselves. Some of you, 1500 or so who applied to be Governors were contacted by Rob C, I have had one email from outside the governors to our email system, if any of you are from Georgia, please contact me, I post under the same name on Sawheads and RSN message board-tsw9406atl, add me as a friend if you like here ...View More
