Just Thinking
February 8, 2008
Its really too bad about Schill and his shoulder. I was hoping he would have one more good year, I know he was planning to call it good after this year or soon after. Hopefully he will get patched up and be able to come in towards the end. He's been a good guy to have on the team-and you know no one will ever forget the bloody sock. So now our Sox are likely looking for someone to fill out the rotation. I mean, we have plenty of pitching talent, but we have some young guys who aren't ready to play the full season(like Clay), and some guys that are already in their roles (Pap). Maybe we should start scanning the market for another full timer for now, and then if Clay comes a long towards the second half he could step up. I don't think it should be a big issue-not another Santana uproar but just someone who's capable. I think Coco would be a good bargaining chip to use-he's a decent player but I just think he time with the Sox is up. 6 more days until camp starts. It should be a fun season in our house, our roommate is a Yankees fan from Queens and we get some pretty lively discussions going. My sister got me a new stats book for Christmas so I will be taking down those numbers in style this year rather than on notebook paper :-) I'd love to hear all your thoughts.......
