Update Time
April 20, 2008

So, I havent written a blog in forever, and I am putting off finishing up my final paper of my college career and I just thought it was time to update my friends on here about what was going on in my life. I have 16 credit hours this semester, I got to school from 11-7 on Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday and Friday I work 8-6 at Balance (where I write spam emails and etc) and then i go to the Detroit News and work from 7-12am. Thursdays I work 8-6 at Balance. Finally on the weekends I get to catch up on homework. So as you can see Im busy. I started my "big boy" job search a couple of weeks ago. I applied to every paper in Southeastern Michigan and also a couple in the Boston Area. I got a couple call backs but nothing in Sports. When Balance heard that I was looking to leave they offered me a full-time job writing emails, news letters, publications and etc. The pay is decent 30K a year. The best part is the work week is only 37.5 hours. Which is great because I hate work. So after talking to Arty (my mentor at the News) I decided to take the offer. I am still going to freelance at the News and look for a job in Sports but now Im not going to settle. Not only that but entry level reporters make about 20-25K a year. Tomorrow is my last day of regular classes before finals, but really the only thing I am worried about is my 20 page Senior Thesis Philosophy paper (which I am putting off doing now). That is due Thursday. So once I get that done, Im golden. I never thought Id say this but I think that I am going to miss school and miss learning. I already have a couple projects lined up for myself though. Next year is going to be my 20th Anv. of being a Sox fan. I think I am going to write a book about my journeys as a Sox fan. Also I am going to read books that I actually want to read. Thats really all I have right now, things are finally coming together...Which is good because I was STRESSED out. Take care everyone and I miss you all. Watch out for more blogs, I will be writing again!

Congrats on all the sucess you've recently received. It sounds like all the hard work is paying off. You are one of the fortunate ones, not everyone can say that have a guaranteed job after college. I look forward to your 'Anniversary Blog'. Stay Faithful.

Eric, congrats on everything and hang in there. Hard work and principles do pay off. Best of luck with everything that's going on and keep the Faith. Ps. You won't have to miss learning as learning is a life long experience. (I learned that somewhere along the way)
